In order to further enhance the potential of the country’s non-governmental sector, including the entrepreneurial and business environment, the consistent construction of new manufacturing enterprises, the introduction of the latest achievements of science and technology, innovative technologies, equipment and the training of highly educated young specialists, entrepreneurs and businessmen capable of mastering them, as well as the successful implementation of the tasks outlined in the “Program of the President of Turkmenistan for the socio-economic development of the country for 2022-2028”, on June 27, 2025, by Resolution of the President of Turkmenistan No. PP-543, the International university of industrialists and entrepreneurs was established.
The International university of industrialists and entrepreneurs, founded by the Union of industrialists and entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, is the first and only non-governmental higher education institution in the country that operates in accordance with the “Regulations on Higher Professional Educational Institutions of Non-State Ownership” approved by the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan No. 1364 dated May 12, 2025. In accordance with the Resolution signed by the Head of State on April 12, 2022, this educational institution, the foundation of which was laid on July 19 of the same year at the address: Ashgabat city, Bagtyyarlyk district, Gorogly street, house 185, was built on the basis of national and modern architectural principles, and high innovations and digital resources were actively used in its construction. Particular attention was also paid to the modern level of equipment of the educational complex of the higher educational institution, and classrooms and specialized laboratories were equipped with the latest technological equipment, computer equipment and laboratory equipment based on innovations. This will allow the university’s teaching staff to organize and conduct training based on the latest scientific achievements and innovative teaching methods, providing students with the opportunity to receive high-quality professional education in comfortable and favorable conditions, master the intricacies of their professional activities and simultaneously conduct scientific research.
The total area of the International university of industrialists and entrepreneurs is 8 hectares, and the new complex of buildings is designed to provide higher professional education to 2,720 students. Since its territory includes a 9-floored main building and 6-floored 4 academic buildings on both sides of it, 2 dormitories for 300 people each. The construction of a library, a canteen, indoor and outdoor sports facilities here will provide young people with the opportunity to spend time usefully, in particular, fully absorb educational material, play sports in their free time and adhere to the principles of a healthy lifestyle. In addition, a conference hall for 800 people and other auxiliary facilities have been built in the complex of buildings of the new higher education institution. In total, the university has 26 computer labs with Internet access, 10 language labs, 42 laboratories, 143 general practical rooms equipped with modern equipment. The construction of the university was carried out by the private enterprise “Nur Bina Gurlushyk” by order of the Union of industrialists and entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan.
The International university of industrialists and entrepreneurs will have a language faculty, a faculty for advanced training, faculties of economics and management of enterprise, agricultural business, digital technologies, architectural and construction business, as well as 14 departments and 42 laboratories at these faculties. The university will operate on a fully self-financing basis, training will be conducted in Turkmen and English on a fee-paying basis, educational, scientific and industrial cooperation will be established with the world’s leading higher educational institutions, industrial and commercial enterprises and companies, and training will be carried out by foreign professors and teachers, masters-specialists. Training will be carried out mainly in a practice-oriented and experience-oriented format. In this regard, it will be established that students will be trained by master entrepreneurs and businessmen working in the private sector of our country, including in production, who will teach them to solve practical problems that arise in production during classes. The total duration of study will be five years, and upon admission, students will be enrolled not in a specific area of training, that is, in a profession, but in extended groups of educational systems. These extended groups of educational systems will include several areas of training at once. Therefore, students will first undergo language training in Turkmen and English for a year. Then, during the first academic year (second year), they will study compulsory and general education subjects related to extended groups of educational systems, which include several areas of training, according to the bachelor’s degree program. Thus, at the end of the first academic year, students will choose a suitable area of training from extended groups of educational systems, based on their wishes and, above all, their academic performance. Then, from the second academic year (third year), students will continue their education, studying special and optional subjects related to the chosen area of training. Thus, students will specialize in a certain area of training in the second, third and fourth academic years (third, fourth and fifth years), and at the end of the third academic year they will prepare an annual research paper, and at the end of the fourth academic year they will prepare a diploma thesis in an industry-specific area, defend it before the state examination committee and receive a bachelor’s degree in the chosen area of training.
